Method 1. Restore iOS 11 from iTunes Backup
Before upgrading to iOS 12 beta, usually we’ll be recommend to make an iTunes backup or iCloud backup of your device which is running iOS 11. in case we lost some data after updating our iPhone, now see below steps.
Step 1. Launch iTunes, connect your iPhone PC. When it’s recognized, click iPhone image icon at the left top corner.
Step 2. Go to Files--Summary, then you can see all your backup files on the left side bar. Then set your iPhone with Recovery Mode:
iPhone x/8/8plus: Press volume up button and quickly release it; press volume down button and quickly release it; press power button and hold on until you see Recovery Mode screen.
iPhone 7/7plus: Press power button and volume down button and hold on, when you see Apple logo show up on screen, don’t release the buttons until you see Recover Mode screen.
iPhone 6 or earlier: Press power button and home button together and hold on, when you see Apple logo show up on screen, don’t release those buttons and hold on until your see Recovery Mode screen.
Step 3. When your iPhone is with Recovery Mode, it will pop up message with two options “Update” and “Restore”, choose “Restore”. and it will begin the process and wipe your iPhone.
Step 4. Then log in it with your Apple ID and password to restore your iPhone, and you’ll be asked if you need to restore from backup, and confirm with “Restore”. When it’s done, restart your iPhone and continue with its set up prompt.
Method 2. Restore iOS 11 from iCloud Backup
Now we’ll see how to restore iOS 11 from iCloud backup after upgrading your iPhone to iOS 12. please note that if your backup on iCloud are done with iOS 12 beta, it won’t allow you to restore it.
Step 1. Launch iTunes, and connect your iPhone with PC. When it’s recognized, click iPhone image icon, and follow above steps to set your iPhone with Recovery Mode.
